WHAT IF MY EMPLOYER RETALIATES AGAINST ME FOR FILING A CLAIM OF DISCRIMINATION?

If an employer discriminates against an employee by retaliation, the employee can bring a lawsuit against the employer for that retaliation. Not every accusation of the employee is going to be considered retaliation. Sometimes the employees are doing work that is really not appropriate or not doing the right thing in the workplace after they’ve filed a charge of discrimination, and they’re trying to set the employer up to get the employer to fire the employee. It all depends on the facts and the circumstances as to whether there was truly retaliation, or instead the employee was doing things that were really not proper.
